James Thomas “J.T.” Allen, 94, died April 30, 2012, peacefully at his home. Services will be Thursday, May 3, at 10 a.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, 401 East 3rd in Sweetwater, with Ron McElyea officiating. Burial will follow at the Nolan Cemetery in Nolan, TX under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
J.T. was born on Jan. 1, 1918, in Sweetwater, Texas. He was the youngest child of Henrietta King Allen and Rowe Allen.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Gumecinda "Cindy" DeLoera Limones, 74, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Father Charles Okonkwa officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at McCoy Chapel of Memories by Pauline Gauna and Connie Palacios.
Limones died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Joetta Lynn (Fisher) Daniel, 64, passed away peacefully April 26, 2012. Joetta was born on Sept. 13, 1947, in San Antonio, TX to Leola Hartgraves and William Fisher. She had an adventurous childhood throughout West Texas, with her three brothers. She graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1964. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and Grammer from Mary Hardin Baylor University in Belton, TX. She spent several years teaching high school English and nine years with Sprint Corporation, until 1995 when she became a full time provider for Ashlee Daniel.

George G. Meade, 68, of Sweetwater died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at his residence.
He was cremated and no further services are planned at this time.

David D. “Heavy” Ford, 49, of Maryneal died Thursday, April 26, 2012.
He was cremated. Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Nicholas (Nick) Haden Lee Walker, age 19, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Hendrick Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Sweetwater with Rev. Eric von Atzigen officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.
Nicholas was born on Nov. 9, 1992, in Abilene, Texas. He attended Sweetwater ISD for many years and graduated from Roby High School in 2011. He worked as a ranch hand for China Creek Ranch.
James Melford Vause, 82, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012. Funeral services will be on Monday, April 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Military Honors will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Rev Paul Collins of Gastonia, North Carolina and Bo Whitaker of Abilene, Texas will be officiating services. Family visitation will be Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
April 27th
Barbara Jean Hanks, born Dec. 28, 1927, went to be with her Savior and family on April 26, 2012. She was a loving, sweet mom and devoted wife. Greeting her at the gates was her husband of 45 years, Billy Ray, who left this earth on Nov. 20, 2011. He served in the Marine Corps. Among others waiting to rejoice with her was her dad, George Edward Jocoy and mom, Fannie Elena Dooley Jocoy. Her father-in-law, WWII Veteran, Maynor Benjamin Hanks and mother-in-law, Lila Geisler Hanks, a sister and numerous cousins and friends were also waiting.
Phil Montoya, 57, was killed in a car accident in Utah on Saturday. He was a man of many interests and much intelligence, more than anything, Phil was known as a friend.
He grew up in Utah, and settled in Texas after hitchhiking through most of the Western United States. He married and had two daughters, Traci and Lauren.
Phil owned two successful tax offices and enjoyed making a living in a practical way that helped people.

Billy Joe “Bill” Tucker, 81, of Sweetwater, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, in Sweetwater. He will be cremated under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home and no further services are planned at this time.
Billy was born Nov. 7, 1929, in Sweetwater. He married Rosemary Jones on May 12, 1972, in Sweetwater. He was a Baptist. Billy owned and operated Big State Roustabout for several years. He was a member of Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #571 and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member of Suez Shrine Temple in San Angelo.
