August 7th
Floyd M. Leach, age 90, went home to be with his Lord Jesus on Saturday, August 4, 2012.
He was born April 14, 1922 to Gilbert R. and Vada (Morris) Leach in Phelan, Texas. He married Nell Ruth Bullock on May 4, 1942 in Colorado City, Tx.
He joined the U.S. Army Air Force on Oct. 19, 1942, and was shipped out to India where he was attached to the 333rd Airdrome Squadron. He was in aircraft maintenance during the war. After the war he came home and attended Texas Tech under the GI Bill, where he earned a degree in accounting.

Peggy P. Pemberton, age 75, of Sweetwater, Texas (Formerly of Coleman, Texas) passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ward Hayes officiating.
Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Peggy was born March 19, 1937 in Quemado, Texas. She was a homemaker. She was a former resident of Coleman, Texas. She loved to travel.
August 3rd
Graveside services for Ann Wells, 72, of Abilene and formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Michael Davis officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Wells died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Funeral services for Jimmy Don Smith, 64, of Sweetwater, will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at Broadway Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Stevens and Rev. Vic Meyer officiating. Interment will follow with Military Graveside Rites at Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Smith died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at his home.

Merl Elizabeth Harris of Maxwell, TX, passed away on July 31, 2012, at the age of 83. She was born on April 7, 1929, in Fouke, AR, to Charles Coy and Mary Elizabeth Rister Combs.
Merl was a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked in the cafeteria for the public schools for many years. She loved sewing and quilting. She also devoted her time visiting with her grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, Raymond Earl Harris and her grandson, Jason Kyle Leclerc preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Maxwell “Mackie” E. Holsey, 45, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at McCoy Funeral Home. Rev. Ernest Brandon will officiate and interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Holsey died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Marion E. Lincoln, age 88, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Dusty Lovell officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
