Ruth Pendergrass Barton, 78, died Nov. 23, 2012 in Colorado Springs. She was a professor of English at Colorado College for 40 years, teaching courses that ranged from the poetry of W.B. Yeats to children’s literature to science in literature.
Memorial services at Colorado College’s Shovel Memorial Chapel were held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. and the interment of Professor Barton’s ashes will be at the Spring Creek Cemetery in Bosque County near Meridian, Texas Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at 1 p.m.
