Roy Howard Tucker

Roy Howard Tucker, age 76, of Fort Stockton, passed away Dec. 22, 2013, after a brief battle with cancer. Howard was born Aug. 23, 1937, in Blackwell to W.O. and Mary Blair Tucker. He married Leona Mae Backhaus on Jan. 9, 1958, in Roscoe. Howard worked as a construction inspector for the Texas Highway Department in Sweetwater, Stanton and Fort Stockton, where he retired after 36 years of employment. He was an Elder of Faith Lutheran Church in Fort Stockton for 45 years. He also served for many years on the Board of El Buen Vecino, the Fort Stockton Christian Thrift Store.

Memorial services for Cody Paul Pierce, 36, of Sweetwater will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013 at New Cherry Hill Baptist Church in Mauriceville, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Pierce died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, in Sweetwater. He was born July 15, 1977, in Crockett, Texas.
Cody married Christina Carver on Aug. 13, 2010, in Crockett, Texas. He loved to read and loved computers.

Samuel Peña

Samuel Peña, 55, of Santa Fe, Texas passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Final services will be at San Jacinta Funeral Home in Houston.

Robert Coleman Evans

Robert Coleman Evans, 77, of Palava, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at his home.
A family and friends memorial service will be held at a later date at his home. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1936 in San Diego, Calif.
He moved to the Sweetwater area in 2005 from Henderson, Nev. He is a United States Air Force Veteran serving in Korea. He was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator.
