Milton R. Shirley

Funeral services for Milton R. Shirley, 88, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Rev. James Baker will officiate and interment will follow at Slater's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Shirley died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at his home in Sweetwater.

Dorothy “Dot” Fournier

Mrs. Dorothy Dell “Dot” Gagnon Fournier, 75, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis.
There will be a private burial in Sweetwater, TX.
Mrs. Fournier was born October 21, 1937 in Worcester County, MA. She was one of six children of the late Leo E. Gagnon and Edelle Edith Brooks Stevens. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and retired as a Director of Nursing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arthur Fournier, Sr.; daughter, Susan Fournier Cato; and a son, Robert Fournier, Jr.

Gladys Turner, age 96, of Sweetwater passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Reverend Brian Brownlow officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.

William (Bill) Havner, Sr.

William (Bill) Havner, Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Aug. 31, 2013 after an eight year battle with COPD.
Bill loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was born on April 19, 1949 in Winters, Texas to JW and Mildred Havner. He enjoyed buying and selling antiques and watching John Wayne movies.

Ruby Whitman Davis, age 97, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away on Aug. 28, 2013 at Lakeview Christian Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, at First United Methodist Church, 207 West Hagerman Street in Carlsbad with Rev. James Baker officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Shady Pine Masonic Cemetery in Hagerman, NM. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday at West Funeral Home in Carlsbad. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, Tuscola, with burial to follow in the Tuscola Cemetery. Pastor Dewayne Bush officiating, directed by Fry~Bartlett Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2013 at the funeral home.

Ken M. Pierce, age 80, died August 21, 2013 at his home in Sweetwater. He was born to Jessie and Mattie Allen Pierce on July 6, 1933 in Altus, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Sweetwater Cemetery with Cody Paty officiating. McCoy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Jean Archer Bredemeyer

This precious woman became an Angel in Heaven.  God gave her wings on Aug. 14, 2013.
She was born in Cortez, Colo. on Sept. 20, 1955.  She was raised in Mozelle, TX and graduated from Mozelle High School in 1973. She lived in Levelland for the past 17 years moving from Sweetwater in 1996.
She married her best friend Michael "Blue" Bredemeyer on Jan. 19, 1978. They celebrated 35 years of the most loving and nurturing marriage, full of fun and laughter. 

Walter Ludwig Renz

Walter Ludwig Renz met his Lord on Aug. 15, 2013. Born in Punxsutawney, Penn. on Sept. 3, 1918, “Walt” was just short of his 95th birthday.
World War II veteran, first generation American, Jazz drummer, minor league baseball player, football referee, world traveler and time-keeper extraordinaire, Walt was many things in his 95 years, but, most importantly, he was a man who loved his family.
