Sylvia Shelan (nĂ©e Krawitz) passed away on Feb. 4, 2014 in Santa Rosa, CA at the age of 90 from natural causes. She was born in Okmulgee, OK in 1923 to Nathan and Nana Krawitz and raised in Tulsa, OK where she graduated from Central High School. During a brief visit to Houston in 1942, Sylvia met her future husband of 69 years, Bernard Shelan(sky).
Funeral services for Charles Lawrence, Sr., 90, of Sweetwater, are pending with McCoy Funeral Home.
Lawrence died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Nolan Nursing and Rehab in Sweetwater.

Stephenville â€” Services for Carl E. Ryden, 75, pharmaceutical cattle sales representative, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at The First Baptist Church, Stephenville, with Rev. Richard Grant officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Carl was born in Georgetown, Texas on July 21, 1938, to Milton G. and Merle (Beaver) Ryden. He married Carolyn Ann Ryan on June 24, 1961, on the Texas A&M Campus. She preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 2001.
Carlos Salazar Sr., 72, of Sweetwater, passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 in Sweetwater. Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at 2 p.m. at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Pastor Gonzalo Castillo officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
He was born on June 11, 1942, in Delicious, Chihuahua. He married Amelia Archuleta on Nov. 16, 1976, in Guadalupe, Mexico.
Robert Gordon Nemir, age 77, of Sweetwater, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Kary Fry and Jack Aycock officiating. Interment will be at the Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
A visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Randel Lynn Jones passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Randel was born March 5, 1950. He grew up in the Claytonville community and graduated from Roby High School in 1968. He received a Masters Degree in Agriculture and Horticulture from Sam Houston State. Randel was an ag teacher, director of produce farming for Texas Department of Corrections and an environmental engineer for oil and gas pipelines. He lived in the Philippines the past four years with the love of his life, Maggie. Randel and Maggie returned to Texas in November 2013.
