Robert E. "Bob" Drake

Robert E. “Bob” Drake, 84, a long-time resident of Roscoe, died Feb. 4, 2013, in Sweetwater, with family by his side.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at McCoy Funeral Chapel of Memories, located at 401 E. 3rd Street in Sweetwater, with burial at Sweetwater Cemetery. Pastor Chester McCown will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

James Edward Reich

James Edward Reich, 54, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. James, better known as Jim, was born April 17, 1958 in Sweetwater. He was a 1976 graduate of Sweetwater High School and attended Angelo State University, graduating in 1980. He was employed by Bob Parr at the former Trend Furniture. After working for Knox Supply Company a short time, he moved to Orlando, Fla. to work for the La Z Boy Corporation. During his 19 years with La Z Boy, the franchise grew to five stores with Jim managing the warehousing, deliveries and claims departments.

EASTLAND – O.C. “Spot” Hale, 101, of Eastland, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 in Eastland. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Daugherty St. Church of Christ with Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery directed by Edwards Funeral Home.

Nita Faye Clark Giesler

Nita Faye Clark Giesler, 81, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, in Boerne, Texas, of complications from a hip fracture. She was a native of Sweetwater, Texas and was born April 13, 1931, to Garland Felix (G.F.) and Helen Sawyer Clark. Nita attended Sweetwater High School. 
Nita married Daniel Lee (Dan) Giesler in the First United Methodist Church, Colorado City, Texas, June 28, 1948. Married for 64 years, they were always best friends; their bond was a partnership forged from love and laughter, enduring through life’s hardships and trials.

Jose Manuel Galvan

A memorial service for Jose Manuel Galvan, 53, of Roscoe, will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Roscoe with Rev. Juanelle Jordan officiating. He was cremated.
Galvan died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Rolling Plains Hospital in Sweetwater.
He was born July 30, 1959 in Corpus Christi. Jose was married to Maria M. Galvan for many years. He was a mechanic and a chef. He loved building and remodeling things and was a carpenter. He built his own motorcycle.

Billy (Bill) Thompson, age 84, of Sweetwater, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric VonAtzigen officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Morris M. Guelker, 87, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at McCoy Funeral Home with Rev. James Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Guelker died Saturday, Jan. 26, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

John Settle Bostick, Sr.

Roscoe, Texas — John Settle Bostick, Sr., age 82 of Roscoe, passed away Jan. 26, 2013, at his home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Roscoe with Rev. Adam Davis and Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Round Mountain Cemetery in Fisher County, Texas. McCoy Funeral Home of Roscoe is in charge of arrangements. A visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

Billie Sue Alberty, 79, of Sweetwater, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with McCoy Funeral Home.

Cynthia Marie Cotton

January 26, 2013

Cynthia Marie Cotton, 64, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at her residence in Sweetwater after an eight month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born Feb. 29, 1948 in Topeka, KS.
Cindie is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Dave Cotton; and her two sons, Adam Cotton and wife Kaci of Parker, Colo. and Ben Cotton and wife Lindsey of Abilene; two sisters, Marcie Beth Lightsey and husband Tony of Broken Arrow, Okla. and Kim Bruening and husband Ron of Topeka, Kan.; and two granddaughters, Lillian and Keely Cotton; and two grandsons, Jackson and Lincoln Cotton.
