Mildred Louise (Britton) Montgomery Green passed away peacefully with family at her bedside.Â She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Verna Britton of Loraine; two brothers, Harold Britton of CA and Gene Britton of Loraine, TX; and the loss of a son, Johnny Mac Montgomery.Â SheÂ was a loving grandmother, mother, wife, daughter, sister and a loving friend.
Stephen Edward (Steve) McGinley, age 60, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at his residence.
His body was cremated. No formal services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Steve was born Sept. 26, 1951, in Sweetwater, Texas to D.E. (Jack) and Nancy (Neeper) McGinley. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for many years before retiring. He married Nellie Ramon on Sept. 27, 1976 in Sweetwater, Texas.
Carl Herman Alfred Erickson, Jr., 56, of Maryneal, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, in Maryneal.
No services are scheduled at this time. Mr. Erickson will be cremated.
Ralph H. Carter, 81, of Loraine, Texas passed away on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at Snyder Oakes Nursing Home in Snyder, Texas after a brief illness of pneumonia.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Maria M. Guerrero, 87, of Gail, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Joe Uecker officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 23, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, recited by Connie Palacios and Pauline Gauna.
Jewel F. Campbell, age 90, of Sweetwater, Texas passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Robert Squires officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Jewel was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Bartlett, Texas to John and Hulda (Hightower) Stone. She married C.H. Campbell on Aug. 26, 1939, in Roby, Texas. She was a Baptist. She worked as a waitress for many restaurants including Waffle Shop, and Jordanâ€™s.
ROSCOE â€” Patricia Jean â€śPatâ€ť Karonika was born Oct. 30, 1947, in Houston, Texas. She attended schools in LaGrange, Texas and Roscoe, Texas. She has been a resident of Abilene since 1967. She had worked for HEB for several years and served on the advisory board of the Betty Hardwick Center. She had been a participant of Special Olympics and received several trophies for bowling. She was attending Sears Senior Center and was a volunteer until a decline in her health.

A graveside service for Wayne V. McDonald, 80, of Sweetwater, will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Huron Valley Cemetery in Flat Rock, Mich. under the direction of Ford Chapel Funeral Home. Local arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Ford Chapel Funeral Home in Rockwood, Michigan.
McDonald died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at his residence in Sweetwater.
Margaret Evelyn Hiscock Adams, 86, of Abilene, Texas passed away on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at her home.
Archie J. Hunter â€“ Husband, daddy, papa, veteran, plowboy went to be with the Lord on Oct. 13, 2011. Archie was born May 27, 1932, to Harvid and Bertha Hunter. He graduated from Roscoe High School and attended UT Arlington on a football scholarship. He then served in the U.S. Army and played on the all Army team with Heisman Trophy winner Billy Vessels. He met and married Sherry L. Hunter while stationed at Fort Sill, OK, on Feb. 25, 1956, and loved her all his life. He then returned to college at Hardin Simmons University and was a star player for football great Coach Sammy Baugh.
