Graveside services for Stanley D. Phillips, Sr., 73, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Phillips died Sunday, Jan. 13, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services for Harriet Ruth Monde, 81, of Sweetwater, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. David Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home.
Monde died Saturday, Jan. 12, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
Cruz Torres Rivera, age 79, of Sweetwater passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel, recited by Lupe Medellin.
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Okonkwo officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery.
Lois Barber, age 94, of Sweetwater, formerly of Sacramento, Calif., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
Her wishes were to be cremated. Her family will hold a service at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Lois was born Aug. 19, 1918, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to William M and Pearl (Spangler) Brady. She married Victor Barber on Aug. 28, 1935 in Kissimmee Park, Fla. She was a devoted homemaker and a Christian.
Long-time Sweetwater elementary school teacher, Verona Jim Younger, 99, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012.

Sean Walker Lomas, infant son of Donald and Krystal Lomas, passed away Jan. 10, 2013, at Abilene Regional Hospital.
Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Philip Thomas officiating under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
ROTAN — Concha Ramon Castillo, 59, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at her residence in Vernon, Texas. Services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday January 11, 2013, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel in Rotan. Burial will follow at Belvieu Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation was Thursday evening from 5-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to weathersbeerayfh.com.

Graveside services for Virginia M. Ramirez, 55, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12. 2013, at Hermleigh Cemetery with Pastor Randy Asebedo officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Ramirez died Thursday, Jan. 10, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
She was born on July 1, 1957 in Lockney, Texas. Virginia moved to Sweetwater from Hermleigh in 1987. She graduated from Hermleigh High School. She was a housewife and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sweetwater.
Funeral services for Jackie Virginia Hicks Harrell, 77, of Sweetwater, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, at McCoy Chapel of memories with Rev. Chris Stephens officiating. Cremation is under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
There will be a family visitation on Friday, Jan. 11, from 7-9 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Harrell died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Ann Whorton Forester was born on Jan. 25, 1933, in Corpus Christi to C.B. and Rita Whorton, and died on Jan. 9, 2013.Â
She grew up in Sweetwater, where she was involved in her church youth group, tennis, cheerleading and choir. She went to Southern Methodist University and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. It was there that she met her husband, Bill Forester.  They resided in Dallas.
