Marcia L. Rogers, 62 of Colorado City passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011. Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Big Spring, TX. Rev. James Williams will be officiating.
Family visitation will be Tuesday, March 15, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at Dandyâ€™s Diner in Colorado City, TX.
Sam Q. Underhill, age 93, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.Â
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Belvieu Cemetery with Rev. Phillip Thomas officiating.Â Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.Â
Sam was born Sept. 28, 1917, in Yowell, Texas to Ernest C. and Myra L. (Hamilton) Underhill.Â He married Claudine O. Tidmore on October 16, 1951 in New Mexico.Â He was a U.S Army World War II Veteran.Â He worked for ADMÂ as a supervisor for many years before retiring.Â
Frankie Lee Toland, age 90, passed away at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater, Texas on March 13, 2011. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Dr. Cindy Cearley and Rev. Judy Hall officiating under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. Interment will follow in Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Stephen Smith, Toland Smith, McC Smith, Zach Smith, Bo Compston and Paul Davis.
Willie Herman Hackfeld, age 83, of Sweetwater, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011, at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.Â
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March l4, 2011, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Stewart officiating.Â Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2011, at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, Texas with Bill Johnston officiating.Â Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.Â
Doyle Alfred Davis, 76, of Denton, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born on Se. 10, 1934, in Black Land, TX to Dayton Alfred and Clara Lee (Lewellen) Davis. He was married to Judith Reynolds on July 20, 1979, in Temple, TX. He served in the U S Army and was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad and the construction business. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Denton.
ROBY- Hue Dorsey Moore, 94, died Tuesday March 8, 2011, at his residence.Â Services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Roby with burial to follow at Roby Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.Â Visitation will be Saturday from 5-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
James E. Harrell, age 55, of Sweetwater, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Hendrick Medical Center.Â
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Stephens officiating.Â Burial will follow at Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan, Texas.Â Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.Â
James was born April 7, 1955 to John H. and Winnie Lou (Harris) Harrell.Â He worked as a machine operator at U.S. Gypsum for many years.Â He was a Baptist.Â Â
Errica Green, 29, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2011, at Mitchell County Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Kiker-Seale Chapel. Rev. Faye Ross will officiate services. Interment will follow at Mitchell County Cemetery. All arrangements are under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City.
Longtime Fairbanks resident Brian Hubbard Groghan, 64, passed away at his home Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011.
Brian was born Nov. 15, 1946, in Sweetwater, Texas. He lived in Alaska for the past 43 years. He was known as one of the finest welders in Alaska. He was a beloved father and grandpa.
Brian traveled to Alaska in 1968 to "strike it rich" on the pipeline and never left. He loved to hunt and fish and was rarely seen without his faithful companion Holmes, his pet Yorkshire terrier.
Peggy P. McJunkins, born March 12, 1920 in Sweetwater, TX went to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 3. She enjoyed 90 years on this earth.
Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Ellis Gray McJunkins; her parents William Walter and Lura Reavis Pickett; brother, Lewis Wayne Pickett; and sister, Mitzi Lewayne Guelker.
