Kenneth Wayne Follis, Jr., 67, of Sweetwater, formally of Hobbs, New Mexico, passed away May 8, 2014 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 16, at McCoy Chapel of Memories. â€śKennyâ€ť Follis, son of the late Kenneth Doug Follis, Sr., and Betty Jean Follis, loving husband of Jeffrey Lynn Follis, is also survived by seven children, Jimmie Follis, Patricia Kuskos, Samantha Porter, Donna Follis, Tina Ragsdal, Ricky Follis and Sammy Sanchez. He is survived by 32 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Cassidy Crain, 39, of Sweetwater, will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Pastor Dale Stowe officiating. Interment will follow at Nolan Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Graveside services for Devin LaRue, 52, of Sweetwater, will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, at Sweetwater Cemetery with Roger Mobley officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, at McCoy Funeral Home.
LaRue died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services for Omogene â€śJeanâ€ť Whitworth, 91, of Busby, TX will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at McCoy Chapel of Memories. Rev. Matt McGowen will officiate and interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Whitworth died Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Nolan Nursing and Rehab.
She was born April 10, 1923, in Polar (Scurry County), TX. She married Howard Whitworth on Dec. 7, 1940, in Sweetwater.
Graveside services for James Franklin Hand, 49, of Sweetwater will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel. Mike Crowley will officiate and interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Hand died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 20, 1965, in Sweetwater.
Rev. Milton Jochetz, 87 of Stanton, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Mabee Health Care Center in Midland.Â
He was born and reared on a West Texas cotton farm Sept. 23, 1926.Â The farm was and is in Lubbock County near the small town of Slaton.Â He was the son of Walter A. Jochetz and Myrtle Lena Saage Jochetz.Â The family was a church going family.Â On a Sunday morning in 1934, Milton, eight years old, accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized byÂ Rev. C.W. Foote, the minister at the First United Methodist Church, Slaton.
E.S. (Snooky) Herring of Maryneal died Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the ranch. Born in Ballinger Sept. 19, 1932 to Zid and Mildred Herring, he grew up on family ranches in Runnels and Nolan County, attended school at Divide and graduated from Ballinger High School in 1951. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea with a small radar group, where he met and remained friends with several men from different states until his death.
Funeral services for Billie Diddle, 86, of Sweetwater will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Fourth & Elm Church of Christ. Mike Crowley will officiate and interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Diddle died Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
She was born July 16, 1927, in Sweetwater. She married Gene Diddle on Sept. 15, 1944, in Sweetwater.
Memorial services for Eddy R. Mayfield, 65, of Millersview, TX will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Trinity Baptist Church. Rev. Eric Von Atzigen and Rev. Malcom Brown will officiate. Mayfieldâ€™s wishes were to be cremated.
Mayfield died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
He was born Oct. 9, 1948, in Sweetwater. One of Eddyâ€™s loves was to go fishing.
Donald Richard De Vore, age 75, of Sweetwater, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at his residence.
His body was cremated. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Donald was born on Feb. 5, 1939, in Midland, Texas to Thomas Asbury and Martha Alva (Ware) De Vore. He was a Baptist. He worked at Edwards Air Force Base as a computer technician before retiring.
