Virginia Elliott Hefner, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.Â
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Earl Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.Â

Candelario Valles Moreno was born in McQueeny, TX. He worked for the City of Sweetwater in the Water Department as a Back Hoe Operator and he retired in 1997 from the City of Sweetwater. He attended First Baptist Church. Candelario was a wonderful father and grandfather and a great friend of Sweetwater. He was known to many by Candy or Henry and loved by all. He will be greatly missed.

Gloria J. Pool, age 82, of Sweetwater, TX, passed away May 31, 2011. She was born Oct. 15, 1928, in Blackwell, TX to O.A. and Ladonia Johnson. She was a lifelong homemaker, devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She enjoyed arts and crafts sewing and bingo. She was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Ladies Auxillary. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Kathryn Ann Dunlap, 63, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Larry Fluitt and Jerry Huffman officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Dunlap died Monday, May 30, 2011, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.

Manuela Villa DeLaCruz
Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Manuela Villa DeLaCruz, 85, of Sweetwater, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 30, 2011, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, recited by Pauline Gauna and Connie Palacios.

Funeral services for Manuela DeLaCruz, 85, of Sweetwater, are pending with McCoy Funeral Home.
DeLaCruz died Thursday, May 26, 2011, in Sweetwater.
Marian Michael née Pendergrass was born in Colorado City, Texas on Dec. 5, 1927. She died in Austin, Texas, on May 16, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Wolfgang F. Michael; her parents, J. W. and Ruby Pendergrass; a brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Corinne Pendergrass; a brother-in-law, Tom K. Barton; and a niece, Belle B. Rosing. Â
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Colonel B. Pat and Anita Pendergrass; a sister, Ruth P. Barton; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Funeral services for Ivy Mae Haywood Hurst, 79, of Abilene and formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Jerry Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home.

Joseph Aaron Rayburn, age 84 of Rowlett, TX, passed away May 23, 2011. He was born April 17, 1927 in Roscoe, TX, to Henry Franklin Rayburn and Claudia Mae (Helms) Rayburn. Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army Aircorps during WWII. He worked in logistics in the textile industry. Joseph was a member of the VFW, the American Legion Post 0227 in Roscoe, TX and First Baptist Church of Rowlett, TX.
