Delbert William Hancock

March 23, 2011

Delbert William Hancock, 87 years of age, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011, at his home with his family by his side. Delbert was born to Clarence and Beulah Hancock in Beggs, Oklahoma on December 19, 1923. He attended school in Gaston, Texas prior to entering the Army Air Corp on January 20, 1943, serving as a Rifle Marksman during World War II. He received the EAME Campaign Medal, the Bronze Star, and the World War II Victory Medal for his service to his country. On July 19, 1947, he married Doris Faye Gaut in Bossier City, Louisiana. They have two children.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Albert Gonzalez, Sr., 35, of Roscoe, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Roscoe with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Gonzalez died Sunday, March 20, 2011, in Sweetwater.

Jose E. Castillo, age 94, of Roscoe, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. 
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel. 
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at St. Albert's Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Roscoe Cemetery.    Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Services for Rhonda J. “Stormi” Tatro, 59, of Abilene, have been scheduled for Saturday, March 19 at 2 p.m., First Baptist Church of Abilene, North 3rd & Orange. Rhonda was the daughter of the late Eugene and Ina Bailey of Kermit.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the family.

Funeral services for Verna L. Akers, 91, of Roscoe, were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Roscoe Church of Christ with Dan Boren officiating. Interment followed at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Snyder, under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.
Visitation was held fro 5-6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Akers died Friday, March 18, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

Mable Frances Clark, 91, of Blackwell, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, in Sweetwater.
Mrs. Clark was cremated and no services are planned at this time.

Lorenzo Enriquez Carrillo, Jr.

Lorenzo Enriquez Carrillo, Jr. age 45, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, March 15, 2011.
Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011, in the Brentwood Chapel at Schooler Funeral Home in Amarillo.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at St. Laurence Cathedral, with Rev. Juan Rubio as the Celebrant. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia Street in Amarillo.

Funeral services for L.R. “Ish “ Wilburn, 77, of Abilene, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Mickey Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Wilburn died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at his home.

CORPUS CHRISTI — Lola Pike McDonald passed away peacefully at the age of 80, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, in Corpus Christi, TX surrounded by her loving family. After moving from Sweetwater, Lola lived in Fort Worth, TX for many years and later in Portland, TX with her daughter.
Service: Her body was cremated. A private graveside service will be held in Sweetwater, on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Roy Thomas Horton

Roy Thomas Horton, 94, of Sweetwater, formerly of Winnie and San Angelo, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at the Nolan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A graveside service will be held at the Sinton Cemetery in Sinton, Texas, on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Rick Vire officiating. McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater is in charge of arrangements.
Roy was born in Walcott, Arkansas, on Jan. 24, 1917 to Arthur Thomas and Rozeler Turner Horton. His early life was spent in Arkansas and Oklahoma before his family moved to San Patricia County in South Texas.
