Denver Leeon Pettitt, 77, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, December 11, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the 14th and Main Church of Christ with Rick Cunningham, Doyle Maynard and Ralph Anderson, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.Â
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at the funeral home.
After running a really great race, John Morgan crossed the "finish line" for which he'd been preparing his whole life. He died after a brief illness on December 11, 2011, at the age of 79.

Funeral services for Kevin Dale Allen, 38, of Godley, TX, formerly of Roscoe, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at Roscoe Church of Christ with Royce Clay and Dan Boren officiating. Interment will follow at Champion Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Allen died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, in Abilene, TX.
Arthureen Glass Swift, age 86, of Denton, Texas, passed away on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Texas Health Presbyterian Denton.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011 at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Ward Hayes officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Arthureen was born on August 12, 1925 in Knox County, Texas to Arthur H. and Ada Glass. She was a member of North Fort Worth Baptist Church. She worked for AT&T Accounting Office for 20 years before retiring.
GRANBURY â€” Helen R. Allen, 80, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, at Skyvue Victoria Chapel. Burial will follow at Skyvue Memorial Gardens under the direction of Skyvue Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. on Friday.
Survivors include her daughter, Norma Spencer-Feuerborn and husband Charles; son, Vernon E. Johnston and wife Renee; sister, Faye Edmondson; grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Elliott, and Sean Johnston; and seven great-grandchildren.
James Albert Jones, age 72, of Blackwell, Texas passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at Blackwell Cemetery with Rev. John Curry officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Pete Ortega, Jr. passed on Sept. 13, 2011, in Oklahoma City. The burial was held Monday, Dec. 5, 2011.
He is the grandson of Margarito and Socorro Gutierrez; son of Rebecca G. Castillo and step father Ruben Castillo. He had three brothers, Tony, David and Jose; two sisters, Margarita and Becky; several nieces and nephews; his daughter, Rebecca from Mexico; one aunt, Rachel Cuellar, three uncles, Tuto, Alfredo and Quie Gutierrez; and cousins from Sweetwater.
Funeral services for Domitila Tovar Covarrubius, 92, of Roscoe, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Fabio Perez officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Covarrubius died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
She was born June 3, 1919, in Laguna Seca, Hidalgo, Mexico. She married Victoriano Covarrubius. She was a housewife and moved to Roscoe in 2000. She was a member of the Christian Evangelical Spiritual Church in Sweetwater.

Carey died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
He was born June 25, 1910, in Weatherford, Texas. Bill was a farmer and rancher and had lived in Nolan and Mitchell Counties all his life. He attended the Church of Christ in Roscoe.
