Sandra Shuler, 70, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma (formerly of Sweetwater, Texas), passed into the presence of her Lord on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at her home in Sand Springs.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Roscoe Cemetery with Rev. William Mayo officiating.
Anne Little, age 62, of Sweetwater, Texas, arrived in heaven on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011.Â Â Â
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at 2 p.m., at First Christian Church with Rev. Eric Von Atzigen officiating.Â She will rest peacefully at Garden of Memories.Â Arrangements under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.Â
Bernard Joe Ferris passed away on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, in Abilene, Texas. Bernie was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Denver Colorado, and grew up in Lakewood, Colorado. He received a Bachelorâ€™s and a Masterâ€™s degree in geological engineering from the Colorado School of Mines where he was awarded Shell Oil Companyâ€™s first graduate fellowship in petroleum geology.
Clayton Dee Hardin, age 47, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at Hendrick Medical Center.Â
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Sweetwater Cemetery with Rev. Lester Cavitt officiating.Â There will be no visitation at the funeral home.Â Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.Â
Clayton Dee Hardin was born on Oct. 14, 1963, in Sweetwater, Texas to Arland Dee and Elizabeth Ann Hardin.Â He worked as a waiter at Lisaâ€™s Cocina for many years.Â
Robert Weldon Wood went to meet his Lord and Savior on Sept. 20, 2011, at the age of 91. Weldon was the son of Luther and Eva Gann Wood; however he was raised by an aunt and uncle, Ed and Virgie Berry due to the death of his mother when he was nine months old.
Robert E. Davidson, 88, of Mesquite, Texas passed away Sept. 15, 2011. He grew up in Sweetwater and Midland and was a paperboy for the Sweetwater Reporter. He is survived by his brother, Col. B.H. (Dave); sisters, Nell Taggart and Barbara Rammage; and numerous beloved family members and friends.
Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26 2011, at Fairview Cemetery in Midland. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Clayton Funeral Home of Mesquite.
Edith Ruth Logsdon Cain, 88, of Lawrenceburg, KY and Argyle, TX, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at her residence. She was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Desdemona, TX, daughter of the late J.W. (Bill) and Minnie Anna Belle Goates Logsdon.
Edithâ€™s husband of 74 years, Thurmon Cain, preceded her in death on June 18, 2011.Â
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Cain Burdick and husband Bill; a granddaughter, Tracy Foster Braziel and a great-grandson, Dietrick Reed Braziel, all of Lawrenceburg, KY.
Stevan Alcala, Sr.,Â age 56, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Friday, Sept. 16, 2011 at Hendrick Medical Center.Â
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel recited by Pauline Gauna and Connie Palacios.Â
Holy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Udegbunam officiating.Â Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery
Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.Â
Graveside services for William D. â€śBillâ€ť Swartz, 71, of Sweetwater, will be held Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at 10 a.m. in Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, Texas with Military Graveside Rites performed by the U.S. Army Military Honor Guard from Fort Hood, Texas with Chaplain Eddie Rivera officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Swartz died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Harold Wayne Smith, 55, of Sweetwater, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2011, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Big Spring.Â Graveside services with Military Honors will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.
He was born Aug. 31, 1956, in Sweetwater, Texas to Edna Ruth Mayhugh and Reuben E. Smith.Â He was a graduate of Sweetwater High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1975 until 1979.Â He was a self-employed construction worker.Â He had been a lifetime resident of Sweetwater and was a Lutheran.
