JOSHUA â Lori Lynn McKenzie, 36, of Joshua, an Ellis County deputy sheriff, left this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, in Fort Worth.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2011, at First United Methodist Church in Joshua.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ellis County Sheriff Officerâs Association or First United Methodist Church of Joshua Food Pantry.
J. Vaughn Brown, 86, of Colorado City passed away, Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Midland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20,2011, at Kiker-Seale Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at the funeral home. All arrangements are under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Robert âBobâ Gordon Campbell, 80, of Roscoe, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Roscoe with Rev. Adam Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Campbell died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
Born April 12, 1923 in Delight Arkansas, Verna Lee Reed lived a life in honor to God. At 1:51 p.m., April 19, 2011, Jesus fulfilled his promise and returned to earth to escort Verna home completing her life goal of returning to heaven. After 88 years seven days, Verna is now joining her husband James, parents, brothers Willie and Dewey âJackâ Nelms, and other family and friends in her new home.
Imogene Thomas Carter, 92, of Sweetwater, died Monday, April 18, 2011, at her home.
No services are currently planned. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Dan W. Carter, Sr. of Sweetwater and son, Dan W. Carter, Jr. of Sweetwater.
Morris L. (Coon) McDonald, age 81, of Trent, Texas passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at his son's residence.Â

Officiating will be Father Michael Rodriguez. Interment is at Loraine Cemetery, under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater. Rosary will be on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 7 p.m. at McCoy Chapel of Memories. The rosary will be recited by Pauline Gauna and Connie Palacios.
Mr. Gomez died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Joseph Edward Mikac, age 67, of Birch Run, MI, died Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Regency Hospital Of Odessa.Â He was born in West, TX on April 24, 1943, to the late Henry John Mikac and Irene Vera (Churchman) Mikac.Â
No services are scheduled at this time.Â Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.
