Jay Lomas scored two of Sweetwater Whiteâs three touchdowns with a 1-yard run followed by a 27-yard catch from Kaegan Jeffrey. Jeffrey also threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to James Clift as well as a 2-point pass to Duanta Williams. Angel Caballero and Andrew Davis were defensive standouts for the Ponies.

Kris Duranâs 35-yard run was an offensive highlight for Sweetwater Red while on defense, Zach Garcia recorded a tackle for a loss.

Lady Stangs sweep Snyder
Win keeps SW in playoff picture
SNYDER â The Sweet-water High School volley-ball team swept past Snyder in three games Friday by scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-17, a convincing win that allowed the Lady Mustangs to keep their playoff hopes alive entering Tuesdayâs season finale against Wylie.

Sweetwater High Schoolâs football and volleyball teams are heading to Snyder today for what could be consider-ed their last âdoubleheaderâ of the 2011 season, and the rivalry between the schools wonât be the only thing on both teamsâ minds.
The SHS football team, which is 1-1 in district play after a 28-6 win last week over Big Spring, must win one of its last two games to have a playoff shot. Snyder (1-0) is tied with Wylie for first place and leads both Sweetwater and Brownwood by a half-game.

Volleyball
The Sweetwater football team completed Step 1 on its way to becoming a play-off contender by defeating a winless Big Spring team 28-6 this past Friday at Mustang Bowl.
Now comes the hard part â winning at least one of its final two games against two of the most respected pro-grams in the state, begin-ning with Fridayâs District 5-3A game at Snyder (6-1, 1-0), which is riding a six-game winning streak.

The Sweetwater volleyball team still may be a longshot to make the state playoffs.
But a Brownwood team on the verge of clinching a postseason berth for the eighth consecutive year discovered Tuesday that the Lady Mustangs were not about to roll over for them.
Instead, Sweetwater ral-lied after a slow start to take a convincing 3-1 win at Mustang Gym and keep its playoff chances alive. After losing 25-20 in Game 1, the Lady Mustangs swept past the Lady Lions by scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-13.

Dylon Adames is the Football Player of the Week for Sweetwater. Adames is a 195-pound senior who has been the starting center on the Mustangsâ offensive line the past three years. In last weekâs 28-6 win over Big Spring, he blocked a field goal attempt, had one QB pressure and assisted on one tackle.
Sweetwater got a split de-cision against Big Spring in sub-varsity District 5-3A volleyball action this past Friday at Mustang Gym.
The Sweetwater freshmen beat Big Spring 16-25, 25-21, 25-22 in their match, while Sweetwaterâs junior varsity lost to Big Spring 21-25, 22-25.
