Sweetwater High School’s softball team tries for its second straight win when it hosts Levelland at 3 p.m. today after a 16-8 victory at Lamesa on Monday that improved the team to 8-7 this season. Sweetwater begins district play Friday when it goes to Big Spring for a 7 p.m. contest.
Seven players had multiple-hit games Monday at Lamesa. Keyli Turner had five hits and Kendra Crosson and Alicia Finn four each, while Suede Shirley, Taylor McKoy and Kinsey Browning had three hits and Kelsi Crosson two for the Lady Mustangs.
Sweetwater’s Alicia Finn smiles as she runs as she circles the bases following a home run that she hit at the Lady Mustangs’ tournament in February. Finn was one of several Sweetwater players who had big offensive games in a 16-8 win at Lamesa on Monday. The team begins district play on Friday when the Lady Mustangs travel to Big Spring for a 7 p.m. game.
