Sweetwater Falls To Brownwood

April 16, 2011

BROWNWOOD – The Brownwood Lions clinched at least a share of their third straight district baseball championship with Friday’s 13-6 victory over the Sweewater Mustangs at Morris Southall Field.
The Lions (18-6, 6-0) led 2-1 heading into the third inning, where they erupted for seven runs — including three on a home run by shortstop Levi Perez – off Sweetwater starting pitching Larry Daniel.
Brownwood’s advantage peaked at 11-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning, but Sweetwater (11-15, 1-5) responded with four runs in the top of the fifth to close the gap to 11-6.
