SW teams win to keep their district hopes alive

All four Sweetwater teams are still chasing District 5 championships after the first three days of their respective double-elimination all-star tournaments.
Two teams stayed alive by winning losers bracket games Wednesday.
Sweetwater’s 9-10 year-olds were a 17-7 winner over Breckenridge, and advance to play Snyder at 7 p.m. to-day in Snyder.
Sweetwater’s 11-12 year-olds were a 2-1 winner over Breckenridge, and advance to play Snyder at 6 p.m. to-day at Wylie.

Bomb Squad is state champs

The Bomb Squad, a local 12-under softball team, won first place at a state tournament held recently in Wichita Falls. Pictured in no particular order are players Alyssa Villanueva, Maddie Berry, Annalese Espinoza, Jacinda Garcia, Naomi Gonzales, Lauren Jones, Karleigh Coldiron, Senora Medellin, Ashley Parker, Abby Garcia and Savannah Kamer and coaches Marc Villanueva, Lamar Berry and Eli Espinoza.
