Sweetwater’s Shelby Cason returns a volley during the Lady Mustangs’ District 4-3A match Saturday against Big Spring. Cason and her teammates play at first-place Wylie today to begin a three-game road trip.
After suffering its first defeat one week earlier, Sweetwater’s JV football team (4-1) got back in the win column this past week with a 38-13 victory over Brownwood at Mustang Bowl.
Sweetwater Middle School teams won just one of their four games against Brown-wood this past Thursday in Brownwood.
The SMS seventh grade Red team was the lone win-ner as it improved to 3-0 with a 22-18 victory. The seventh and eighth grade White had their first games after being a combined team the first two weeks of the season and lost by scores of 16-6 and 12-0, respectively, while the eighth grade Red is now 0-3 after a 32-0 set-back to Brownwood.
