SNYDER — After starting a four-game road gauntlet through District 5-3A with an impressive 14-8 win over Brownwood on Tuesday, Sweetwater’s baseball team had a chance to move into undisputed second place by beating Snyder on Friday.
But after taking a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, things gradually fell apart for the Mustangs as Snyder — which came in desperately needing a win after starting out district 0-2 — roared back for a 13-6 win at Moffett Field.
SNYDER — After being held to no runs and just two hits through the first four innings, the Sweetwater softball team scored three runs in the fifth inning and held on for a 3-2 victory at Snyder to leave both teams in a tie for second place in District 5-3A at 2-2.
Sweetwater High School sent its track teams on Thursday to Colorado City’s Lone Wolf Relays for a final tuneup prior to the District 5-3A meets that will be held April 11-12 at Wylie.
