A big inning helped the Sweetwater Junior League Astros tie its District 5 final 5-5 after three innings, but Snyder’s Astros came back for an 8-6 victory to claim the championship at Sweetwater’s Sports-man’s Park in a matchup of 13-14 year-old teams.
Rocky Perez ripped a two-RBI single in Sweet-water’s five-run third and scored the tying run on Branson Guelker’s RBI groundball. The Astros’ rally started when Junior Lawhon singled, Hunter Mobley was hit by a pitch and Cory Mendez and Max Gomez walked to score Lawhon.
