Several individuals re-ceived awards at the con-clusion of the two volley-ball camps that were held this past week at Sweet-water Middle School.
The awards were pre-sented by camp coaches Carla Lambert, Sandra Graham and Jill Locklar. Winners are as follows:

The Sweetwater Middle School gym welcomed a large number of students when it hosted two volleyball camps this past week.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. â€” Joseph Banyard was the leading rusher again for the New Orleans Saints on Thursday, but his 27 yards on seven carries werenâ€™t enough to keep the New England Patriots from eaking out a 7-6 victory.
Sweetwater High School tennis coach Chris Terry has announced that player tryouts will be held at the high school courts on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 15-16, starting at 9 a.m.
Terry also announced that practices for the fall season will begin on Monday, Aug. 20 beginning at 4 p.m. at the high school courts.
Terry was hired as the new SHS tennis coach this summer to replace Shella Arnwine, who resigned to take coach-ing job in Roscoe.

Two volleyball camps are being held this week at Sweetwater Middle School. Some of the girls in the morning session, which runs through Friday, are shown here. An afternoon camp is also being held through Thursday at the SMS gym for younger girls.
Volleyball players at the high school level are also having their first workouts this week at the SHS gym to get ready for the 2012 sea-son, where the Lady Mustangsâ€™ opening matches will be played here next Monday and Tuesday.

In his first NFL game Sunday in Canton, Ohio, ex-Sweetwater High star Joseph Banyard ran for a team-high 18 yards on five carries as New Orleans Saints beat the Arizona Cardinals 17-10 in the season-opening Hall of Fame exhibition game.
In addition to his running, the 213-pound Banyard caught one pass for negative-3 yards and also spent some time on defense, as he recorded two solo tackles.
Sweetwater High School football players showed up early today for their first official day of practice of the 2012 season.
The more experienced Mustang players held their practice at the Bowl, while new players were at the practice field located between Crane and Ragland streets.
The Mustangs will have full contact drills in pads starting Friday, and their first of two scrimmages will be here Aug. 18 against Wichita Falls Hirschi.
Football athletes at all four of the high schools located in Nolan County are scheduled to report for their first workouts on Monday.
