Sweetwater varsity girls and JV boys will play at Post tournament through Satur-day, Dec. 21.
FRIDAY, DEC. 20
Roscoe JV and varsity girls at Anson at 1:30 and 3 p.m., respectively.
Highland JV boys and varsity teams at Throckmorton starting at 3 p.m.
Blackwell varsity girls and boys will host Sterling City starting at 2 p.m.

SW boys now 6-0, but SW, Highland girls fall

The Sweetwater boys are now the only undefeated varsity basketball team left in Nolan County. The Mus-tangs improved to 6-0 this season Tuesday by winning at Colorado City, 44-34.
Sweetwater led 37-15 after three quarters, then held off Colorado City’s late surge as the Wolves trimmed that big lead with a 19-7 finish.
Sweetwater led 8-6 after one period, then outscored Colorado City 14-1 in the second quarter and 15-8 in the third stanza to build its 22-point margin.
Dylan Bennett led Sweet-water with 12 points and 15 rebounds, while Rhett Tor-res had 10 points and Kaleb Hoover eight.

Three Mustangs are given APSE all-state mention

Three Sweetwater High School football players — receiver Bray Amos and defensive backs Kaleb Hoover and Isaiah McGee — earned big honors by receiving honorable mention to the Associated Press Sports Editors all-state football team released Tuesday.
All three players received first team all-district honors in 4-3A.
Amos, a 5-7 junior, caught 64 passes for 1,037 yards and 19 touchdowns this past season while Hoover and McGee had 100 and 98 tackles, respectively. Hoover had an interception return and McGee a fumble return for touchdowns.

Highland, Sweetwater teams finish 1-2 at Highland JV event

Highland and Sweetwater played for the champion-ship at Highland’s JV girls basketball tournament that was held at Highland this past Saturday.
