SW, Big Spring break tie today

There are several things Sweetwater must do today vs. Big Spring in order to realize its dream of making the playoffs and ending a long drought, says Lady Mustang coach Al Miller.
“We talked about having low turnovers and managing the game like we’re supposed to. Not letting them have wide-open 3s. Taking care of the ball and giving them one shot on offense.â€
If Sweetwater had done a better job in just a couple of those areas the last time the teams played each other, today’s third-place district tiebreaker between two teams with 5-5 records wouldn’t be necessary.

Highland, Roscoe play warmups

Though they don’t start the playoffs until next week, the Highland and Roscoe girls basketball teams won’t be idle this weekend. Both have scheduled warmup games to prepare them for postseason play.
Highland (10-0 in District 13-A, 27-3) plays Valley at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Jay-ton after ending district with a 67-24 win over Hermleigh while Roscoe (7-3, 18-11) gets a tuneup at 5 p.m. today vs. Zephyr in Zephyr.

A junior high basketball camp will be held June 3-6 at the Roscoe gym for boys and girls entering...
