SW rallies, but hits Wall

September 23, 2013

Facing a 21-point deficit and forced to turn the ball over on downs at Wall’s 18-yard line with 6:23 left in the third quarter, Sweet-water’s hopes of a miracle comeback appeared to be dead here Friday night.
But 21-point leads aren’t what they used to be, and it wasn’t long until the Mus-tangs were poised to pull off that miracle after cutting Wall’s lead to 35-28 with 8:13 to play.

BLACKWELL — After playing its first three games on the road, Blackwell fin-ally got some home cooking and needed just one half to beat Trent (2-2) by the 45-point mercy rule.
Blackwell led 24-0 after one quarter and added 21 points in the second stanza, while running just 11 plays before play was halted.
