Sweetwater High School begins classes Monday, but many students were at Mustang Bowl on Thursday as part of âMeet the Mustangsâ following the football scrimmage with San Angelo Lake View.
Introduced were members of the SHS band, cheerleaders and fall sports teams as well as student trainers and coaches.
Pictured here are the members of Blackwellâs spirit team who attended summer camps: high school cheerleaders Krista Clower, Hailey Bennett, Stephanie Metcalf, captain Summer Mull, Shianne Solis and Halee Sanderson won two trophies at Angelo State University in the small varsity division for third place in Extreme Routine and Champion Chant.
Clower, a freshman, and eighth grader Shelby Panzer made the All American squad at the Angelo State University camp and qualified to march in a Thanksgiving Day Parade to be in November at Houston.

The spread offense was a big change for Sweetwaterâs football program when it was installed by newly-hired head coach Shane Mobley a year ago.
But it seems the Mustang players are finally adapting â even having fun with it.
After managing just one score in its opening scrimmage at Wichita Falls Hir-schi, Sweetwaterâs offense scored on its first two plays against San Angelo Lake View in Thursdayâs final scrimmage at the Bowl. And both scores came in spec-tacular fashion.
Shane Mobley says he al-ready knows who his start-ers will be on Aug. 30 when Sweetwater opens the 2013 football season by traveling to Eastland.
But the second-year Mus-tang head coach said todayâs final preseason scrimmage vs. San Angelo Lake View will help to decide who to have on the field when those players need a break.
âWe want them to have the mentality to be able to play in the fourth quarter,â he said. âWeâre looking at some players that will give our starters a breather. They need as much experi-ence as possible.â
