Roscoe’s football team currently sits atop the District 7-1A, Division II standings after a 47-6 win over Baird in its opener last week at Roscoe.
But for the Plowboys to improve their record to 2-0, they must find a way to beat a Cross Plains team tonight on its home turf.
And while Roscoe is 2-2 this season — matching its total wins for the past two seasons — the team is 0-2 on the road so far.
Here are recent results for the Sweetwater Middle School eighth grade White volleyball team:
Vs. Big Spring
Sweetwater ‘C’ lost 12-25, 4-11. Leading servers and points: Kalei Hayes 2, Addy Jones 2.
Sweetwater ‘B’ lost 14-25, 23-25. Leading servers and points: Xaveria Clark 5, Caprice Cepeda 3, Avery Garcia 3.
Big Spring ‘B’ tournament

Five of District 4-3A’s six football teams have finished the non-district portion of their schedules and are idle this week, with Monahans — which takes on Canyon — the lone exception.
The second, and by far most important, half of the season gets started when the teams begin district ac-tion next week.
So now — while the teams (except for Monahans) get a breather —seems as good a time as any to take a look at the teams (including Sweetwater), how they have fared so far and what their chances are in one of the state’s best 3A districts.

It’s taken awhile, but all three Nolan County football teams outside of Sweetwa-ter are hitting their stride.
The good news for Roscoe is twofold: not only are the Plowboys off to a 2-2 start after winning a total of two games the past two seasons, but — and much more im-portantly — they are 1-0 in District 7-1A, Division II after a 47-6 win over Baird this past Friday.
Roscoe will now travel to Cross Plains – also 1-0 in district — on Friday as the Plowboys try to build on last week’s success.
