Mustang Baseball Camp: Monday through Thursday, June 11-14 at the Sweetwater High School baseball field (Sportsmanâ€™s Park) located inside New-man Park just south of Nolan County Coliseum. The first session for students entering grades 1-5 is from 9-10:15 a.m. while the second session for students entering grades 6-9 is from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Persons will need to register at least 15 minutes before each session begins June 11. Cost: $40, which includes a T-shirt. Sweetwaterâ€™s Major League Dâ€™backs are celebrating after defeating the Snyder Braves 9-7 at their District 5 tournament this week. The team also beat the Jim Ned Rangers in their next game to reach the quarterfinals before losing to Abilene Dixieâ€™s Mets, 5-4, at Abilene Northern on Thursday.

Sam Nemir was recently chosen Mr. Mustang by the Sweetwater High School student body. Nemir, a just-graduated senior from SHS, was an all-district performer in football and also competed in powerlifting, where he was a state qualifier the past two years, and track.
Nemir is the son of Gordon Nemir and Marina Nemir of Sweetwater. He will be a student at Hardin-Simmons University and continue his football career there starting in August.

Six Sweetwater teams end their season at area District 5 Little League tournaments starting Monday.
The Dodgers, who won the Minor League for ages 9-10, play Wylie No. 3 at 8 p.m. Monday at Abilene Dixie while the RiverDogs, the Minor League runner-ups, play the Snyder Cubs at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wylie.
Sweetwaterâ€™s two repres-entatives for Major League (11-12) were to be decided on Friday. The No. 1 team plays Abilene Southernâ€™s Yankees at 8 p.m. Monday at Snyder. The No. 2 team plays Snyderâ€™s Braves with their first game slated to begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Snyder.
Lady Mustang Bas-ketball Camp: June 4-7 at Sweetwater Middle School gym for students completing grades 2-8. Sessions are from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost: $35 which includes T-shirt.
Six just-graduated senior students from Nolan County high schools have been chosen to participate in Fellowship of Christian Athletes games that will be played Saturday, June 2 in Abilene.
Taylor Jones and Sam Nemir of Sweetwater and Corey Hatcher of Roscoe will play for the North team at the FCA Myrle Greathouse All-Star Classic football game that kicks off at 7 p.m. at Shotwell Stadium.
Roscoeâ€™s Jacinda Morales, meanwhile, has been chosen to play for the North team at the FCA girls basketball game that tips off at noon Saturday at ACUâ€™s Moody Coliseum.
