GARLAND - Smarting from a onesided semifinal loss to Waco Southern a night earlier, Sweetwaterâ€™s Senior League (15-16 year-old) all-stars rebounded Friday with an 8-3 win over Dallas Wylie to reach Saturdayâ€™s Texas West Section 2 championship game at the South Garland Little League field.Â
WACO - Sweetwaterâ€™s 10-11 year-old all-stars gave themselves a chance to play for the Texas West Section 2 championship by beating Wichita Falls, 10-0, on Friday at the Waco Midway Little League field.
The victory, which was Sweetwaterâ€™s second against Wichita Falls in the tournament, set up a rematch Saturday against Fort Worth University in the losers bracket final.Â
Sweetwater needed to defeat Fort Worth University in order to reach todayâ€™s championship game against Waco Midway that starts at 6 p.m., then beat Waco Midway in back-to-back games in order to capture the sectional title.Â

Unfortunately, there was little clutch hitting, and not nearly enough outstanding pitching and defense this time around as Waco Southern handed Sweetwater its first loss, 15-4, at the South Garland Little League complex.
WACO - After scoring 14 runs against Wichita Falls in Wednesdayâ€™s opener, Sweetwaterâ€™s 10-11 year-old all-stars ran into a buzzsaw Thursday at the Texas West Section 2 Little League tournament as they fell to Fort Worth University, 10-0, in four innings.
Sweetwater, which failed to get a hit and had just one baserunner in the contest, must bounce back today in order to keep its sectional title hopes alive and stay in the tournament.Â
WACO - Sweetwaterâ€™s 10-11 year-old all-stars used a 16-hit attack to crush Wichita Falls, 14-5, in Wednesdayâ€™s opening game of their Texas West Section 2 Little League tournament.
Sweetwater now faces Fort Worth University at 8:15 p.m. today and needs another win to move into the semifinals. If Sweetwater wins today, it will play Waco Midway at 8:15 p.m. Friday; if Sweetwater loses today, it will play The Colony at 6 p.m. Friday.

Sweetwater will now play Waco Southern in the semifinals at 8:30 p.m. today. The winner advances to Saturdayâ€™s championship game, while the loser plays an elimination game at 7:30 p.m. Friday and can still advance to Saturdayâ€™s title contest with a victory.
A Plowboy Football Camp in Roscoe led by the Roscoe football coaching staff will be held Monday through Wednesday, July 18-20 at the Roscoe practice field.
The camp is for students entering grades 2-9 and is from 9-11:30 a.m. each day. Registration for the camp begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 18 at the Roscoe practice field. Pre-registration is encouraged to help with ordering camp T-shirts. The $25 cost includes a T-shirt.
The 2011 Mustang Foot-ball Camp has been scheduled for Monday through Wednesday, July 18-20 at Mustang Bowl.
The camp will be for students who are entering grades 4-9. The hours for this yearâ€™s camp are 6-8 p.m. each day. Registration for the camp begins at 5:40 p.m. on Monday, July 18 and no pre-registration is necessary. The cost is $30. Checks should be made payable to Mustang head football coach Craig Slaughter.

Only a handful of teams are good enough to make it to the sectional round of Little League all-star play each summer.
But not only does Sweet-water have a pair of teams going to sectionals, most of the players on those teams have been there before.
