The postseason all-state football accolades continue to mount for Sweetwater.
On Wednesday, five Mus-tangs received Class 4A all-state honors from the Texas Sports Writers Association, and Sweetwaterâ€™s Isaiah McGee was honored at two different positions.

Blackwell junior high boys will play at district tournament in Sterling City.
FRIDAY, FEB. 6
Sweetwater girls at Lubbock Estacado â€” JV at 5 p.m., varsity at 6:30 p.m.
Sweetwater boys at Lubbock Estacado â€” JV at 5 p.m., freshmen at 6:30 p.m., varsity at 8 p.m.
Roscoe at Hawley â€” JV girls at 4 p.m., JV boys at 5:15 p.m., varsity girls at 6:30 p.m., varsity boys at 8 p.m.
Highland JV and varsity teams at Hermleigh starting at 4 p.m.
Blackwell varsity girls and boys will host Garden City starting at 6:15 p.m.
The No. 4-ranked High-land girls basketball team clinched the No. 1 seed from District 12-1A with a 67-33 win over Westbrook on Tuesday. Highland (8-0 in district) led 20-6, 37-18 and 50-26 at the breaks to maintain its two-game lead over Ira, which got a forfeit win Tuesday over Loraine, with two to play. Highland, however, has already defeated Ira in both of their district meetings.

Sweetwaterâ€™s Hardy Escobar looks for a chance to pass to a teammate in Tuesdayâ€™s game against Lamesa. The Mustangs visit Lubbock Estacado on Friday.
All three Sweetwater High School sub-varsity basket-ball teams defeated Lamesa here on Tuesday.
All three teams are on the road Friday for the final time as they visit Lubbock Estacado. The boys have four games left and the girls two this season.

On Tuesday, Sweetwaterâ€™s two varsity basketball teams finally got to play at home after being on the road for three straight games.
But despite significant stretches of strong play at from both squads, the change of scenery failed to produce desired results as Lamesa came away with wins in both ends of the District 2-4A doubleheader.

Vincent Pantoja of Roscoe, who rushed for 1,403 yards and 19 touchdowns this past season, on Tuesday was a Class 2A third-team selection at fullback by the Texas Sports Writers Association.

Sweetwater High Schoolâ€™s Football Awards Banquet is set for Monday, Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the â€śCenterâ€ť at Texas State Technical College. Tickets for $12 each will be available at the SHS fieldhouse until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18. Meal tickets will not be sold at the door. SHS athletes, cheerleaders and student trainers will not be required to buy a ticket.

The Sweetwater Fastpitch Softball Association plans to have additional signups for the 2015 season at the Fourth and Elm Street Church of Christ warehouse for girls ages 5-14.

All Sweetwater Little League players in Farm League (ages 7-8 as of Jan. 1), Minor League (ages 9-10 as of April 1) and Major League (ages 11-12 as of April 1) must attend tryouts before they will be drafted to a team for the upcoming 2015 season.
