Mustangs fall at L-View

SAN ANGELO — The Sweetwater boys were held to their lowest point total of the season on Tuesday by San Angelo Lake View in their first basketball outing of 2015. The end result was a lopsided 63-26 non-dis-trict defeat to the Chiefs in a game played at Lake View.

Sweetwater Reporter to host Chamber Coffee

The Sweetwater Reporter will host this month's Chamber Coffee at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7.
The Sweetwater Reporter was founded by C.E. Gilbert in 1881--the year Nolan County was organized, under the name "Sweetwater Advance." Later published as the "Nolan County Review," it was purchased in 1906 by John W. Millsapps, who modernized the operation. In 1911, Millsapps and his partner W.A. Perry, with the assistance of managing editor C.A. Wade, began publishing daily editions under the Sweetwater Reporter banner.

Sweetwater boys will play at San Angelo Lake View — freshmen and JV at 5 p.m., varsity at 6:30 p.m.
Sweetwater girls have an open date.
Roscoe teams will host Albany — JV girls at 4 p.m., JV boys at 5:15 p.m., varsity girls at 6:30 p.m., varsity boys at 8 p.m.
Highland JV and varsity teams will host Zephyr starting at 4 p.m.
Blackwell varsity teams will play at Water Valley starting at 6:15 p.m.
THURSDAY, JAN. 8
Sweetwater 7th and 8th grade ‘A’ girls will play at Clyde tournament through Saturday, Jan. 10.

SW academic all-state honorees

January 6, 2015

Sweetwater 2014 football players Tyler Beasley, Ty Crain and Austin Watts have all received academic all-state honorable mention from the Texas High School Coaches Association. Also, Sweetwater’s Maddie Jones garnered academic all-state recognition in volleyball from the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

‘Stangs begin 2015 with trip to L-View
