Roscoe receives reprimand from TCEQ

The city of Roscoe, according to a press release from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), failed to collect and submit the required number of bacteriological samples in January.

Mustangs win, stay in 1st

LUBBOCK — The ability to win close games has been a key for Sweetwater High School’s baseball team in remaining at the top of the District 2-4A standings.
Sweetwater’s last three victories, and four of the last five, have been by three runs or less — including an 8-5 win at Lubbock Estaca-do on Tuesday.

Maryneal crossing bridge now operational

August 15, 2014 was not a good day for Larry Locke, Owner/Operator of Logistic Support on the Texas and Oklahoma Railroad (TXOR). This was the day one of the 18 rail crossing bridges they cross on their way to Maryneal burnt to the ground during a wildfire.

TSTC 50-year celebration features Texas Governor

AUSTIN — Texas Governor Greg Abbott will be the keynote speaker at Texas State Technical College’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. The evening begins with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by a program and dinner at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, at the Hilton Austin.

Lady Mustangs trample Estacado

LUBBOCK — The last time Sweetwater met Lubbock Estacado, the Lady Mustangs trounced the Lady Matadors, 28-0.
Tuesday during the squads' second district meeting, the Lady 'Stangs were hot again, pulling off a 25-7 victory on the road.
