The Sweetwater High School Class of 1985 is planning their 30 Year Class Reunion.
It will be held Friday & Saturday, September 4 & 5, 2015. Saturday's events at the Jaycee Barn begin at high noon!

Season ticket renewals end on Friday

Reserved season football tickets for the 2015 season at Sweetwater High School will be up for renewal to current option holders through Friday, Aug. 7.
Tickets may be purchased at the Sweetwater ISD administration office on 207 Musgrove and are good for five home games — Sept. 4 against Muleshoe (homecoming), Sept. 25 against Andrews, Oct. 9 against Fort Stockton, Oct. 16 against Midland Greenwood and Oct. 30 against Pecos.
Reserved ticket sales for the general public will go on sale at the same location on Monday, Aug. 10. All tickets will be sold during regular business hours.

Mustangs begin practice

August 5, 2015

The high school football season officially began Monday, as Sweetwater football players reported to practice to begin preparations for their season openers. The first games are scheduled for late August. This year's Mustangs will try to duplicate the success of the 2014 team which advanced to the Class 4A state quarterfinals. Sweetwater's first scrimmage will be Aug. 14 when it hosts San Angelo Lake View.

On Thursday, August 6, Story Hour at the County-City Library for parents and their children will be at 10:45 a.m.
Library staff will lead the parents and children in stories and songs. Call 235-4978 for more information or go to www.sweetwaterlibrary.org.
And at 6 p.m., the Roscoe Elementary "Meet the Teacher" night will be held. Please bring school supplies at this time.

Upcoming activities for Wednesday

On Wednesday, August 5, the Adult Literacy/ESL Class will meet at the County-City Library at 10 a.m.
Instructors will help you learn to read, improve your reading skills, improve your English skills or help you read to your children. Call 325-235-4978 for more information.
Also, a volleyball camp will be held Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 5-7, at the Sweetwater Middle School gym, for students entering grades 5-8. Sessions will run from 1-4:30 p.m. on Aug. 5-6 and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 7.

Tomorrow, August 4, through Saturday, August 22, pre-kindergarten registration for the 2015-2016 school year will be held at J.P. Cowen Early Childhood Center, located at 700 West 4th Street from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Children must be four years of age by Sept. 1.
Items to bring include proof of income, birth certificate (certified copy), Social Security card, shot record, proof of residence, and food stamps letter (if applicable). For more information, call 235-3482.
