Three people have recently entered pleas during 32nd Judicial District Court proceedings.
Oscar Charles Walton was sentenced to four years of community supervision after he pleaded guilty to fraudulent use of identifying information, a state jail felony. He will also have to pay a $4,000 fine, $343 in court costs and $500 in attorney's fees. Walton will also have to serve 120 hours of community service.

From Friday, August 9 through Sunday, August 11, Texans will take part in the savings to get their kids ready to head back into the classroom. This year marks the 15th year that the Lone Star State has offered savings to residents in their school clothing and supply purchases.
Since 2007, the annual shopping event has been scheduled to fall closer in line with the start of the majority of public schools. Any item priced under $100 is eligible for tax-free savings.
Bobby Jack Bentle, age 57, of Spring, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 at St. Lukeâ€™s Hospital in The Woodlands, due to complications from heart surgery.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church of Sweetwater, with Kary Fry officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the First Presbyterian Church on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 beginning at 6 p.m.

Freeman became Roscoeâ€™s head coach this summer after serving as an assistant at Sweetwater for many years.
Freeman, a 1997 Roscoe High School graduate, was a star player there during the mid-1990s and later played collegiately at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene before starting his coaching career.

Broadway Baptist Church is holding their Vacation Bible School (VBS) program this week called "Movin' On Up." Children age 5 through completed fifth grade are invited to join in on the fun, which includes music, games, crafts, snacks and a Bible lesson.
The program runs each night this week from 6 to 8 p.m. and will conclude on Friday evening. Call the church office at 235-2730 for more information.

Many events are planned at Sweetwater High School as the beginning of the coming school year nears.
â€¢ Sweetwater High School will begin practices for all 2013 cross country athletes on Monday, Aug. 12 at the high school gym, according to SHS cross country coach Christi Adams. The first-week practices will begin at 8 a.m., according to Adams. The 2013 cross country meet schedule has not yet been released.
â€¢ SHS registration for new students is Tuesday, Aug. 13 and Wednesday, Aug. 14 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
â€¢ Wallace Registration is Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Edward D. Jones and Company, now known as Edward Jones, was founded by Edward D. "Ed" Jones, Sr. in St. Louis, MO in 1922.
Felton D. Henry was born Dec. 22, 1926 and raised in Sweetwater. He passed away on July 24, 2013 in Stuart, Fla. with those who loved him most at his bedside. He was a graduate of Newman High School, Class of â€™44. As a young man he was a participating Mason and in July 4th parades he was the one in the little cars running figure eights making the kids laugh and smile.
