RELIGION: Lamar Street Baptist Church group collecting items for Renteria Family

BROADWAY BAPTIST CHURCH
Years ago, I read about a man who had a rather ingenious way of getting rid of his garbage. He would gift-wrap it, put it out on the curb in front of his house, and invariably someone driving by would see that wrapped box, stop and pick it up. The man would be behind the curtains, watching those people drive away with their gift-wrapped garbage.

Tall order today for SW

February 15, 2013

It’s taken eight years to get back to this point.
Now Sweetwater finds itself in a similar situa-tion to what it faced the last time a girls team ad-vanced to the Class 3A area basketball playoffs — a highly-ranked squad that will be heavily favored to end their season.
Back in 2005, the Lady Mustangs faced No. 1-ranked Canyon and lost 67-26. Today, they meet No. 8 Lubbock Cooper in the area round hoping for a much better result.
But they know they will have to play their best to pull off the upset.

Honk Rally today

February 15, 2013

The basketball team will travel to Post to play Lubbock Cooper.
