Sweetwater 7th and 8th grade teams host Midland Christian, 9 a.m.
Sweetwater and Snyder are renewing their athletic rivalry at two venues today as the volleyball and foot-ball teams will be involved in district competition today at the Sweetwater High School gyms and Mustang Bowl, respectively.
The last two weeks have seen Roscoeâ€™s football team pick up its first victory in nearly two years, followed by a respectable effort in a loss to Cross Plains.
But the Plowboys (1-1 district, 1-4 overall) will be facing their toughest test yet at 7:30 p.m. today at district favorite Albany. The Lions, who along with Hamlin and Cross Plains are 2-0 in district, have outscored their first two District 7-1A, Div. II foes by 105 points.
Roscoe, which has had a few starters return from in-jury in recent weeks, beat Baird 14-0 in its 7-1A opener before losing last week to Cross Plains 27-12.
On Sunday, we should see mostly sunny skies with a high near 82. Winds will be from the north at 5 to 10 mph, shifting to east-northeast in the afternoon.
Tonight we'll have partly cloudy skies with a low around 56. Eastern winds at 5 to 10 mph will become south-southeast after midnight.

Tonight, expect a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms with mostly cloudy skies ad a low around 65. Winds will be from the south-southeast around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Hundreds gathered at Sweetwaterâ€™s Mustang Bowl on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 to join thousands of other youth on athletic fields all across the nation to share their Christian faith with fellow students during the seventh annual national Fields of Faith event.
This is the first event of its kind in Sweetwater. See more photos on Page 10 in Thursday's paper.
Sweetwater and Snyder football and volleyball teams will be squared off against each other for not only District 5 - 3A honors but for a "Friday Night Fight" for a cure for breast cancer. The two rival towns will come together for one cause.

Nolan County Sheriff David Warren addressed the Sweetwater City Commission during their regular meeting at City Hall on Tuesday morning, October 9, 2012.
The presentation was in regards to the upcoming county bond election, in which voters will cast ballots on the courthouse remediation and new jail facilities, and its implications for the city. A fact sheet was presented to commissioners, in which Warren prefaced that only facts were on the sheet.
The Texas Department of Transportationâ€™s Abilene District is moving forward with plans to address damages to the US 84 eastbound overpass at west bound Interstate 20 in Nolan County after a collision in late September.
