The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 149 calls for service, issued 15 citations and made 11 arrests from Feb. 22-24, 2013.
The SPD received 55, 911 calls.

ABILENE â One of the few blemishes on the Highland girls basketball team's outstanding season came in the title game of Highland's tournament in early December when the Lady Hornets lost to Garden City, 31-24.
Highland got a chance Saturday afternoon to avenge that loss in a rematch with Garden City for the Region II-A, Division II championship.
And this time, it was the Lady Kats who were left feeling blue.
Highland (31-4) answered every challenge en route to a 47-29 victory at Abilene Christian University, advancing the Lady Hornets to the Class 1A, Division II state semifinals.
During the Monday night meeting of the Sweetwater ISD (Independent School District) Board of Trustees, a campus report was given on J.P. Cowen Early Childhood Center.
Crystal Meneses, the principal of the school, began the presentation with the assistance of three students from the campus: Ryan Roberson, Rhylie Underwood and Owen Huckabee. They demonstrated to board members the different breathing techniques that are done at the school.
Funeral services for Gretta Lynn Smallwood, 65, of Sweetwater will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Phillip Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, at McCoy Funeral Home.
Smallwood died Monday, Feb. 25, at Hendrick Medical Center.
Trent â Ruby Faye âPoopieâ Sipe, 81, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 in Abilene. A celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, at the Trent First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Trent Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home. Visitation was from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
John Manuel Aquino Molina, age 64, of Colorado City, passed away Feb. 22, 2013 in a Lubbock Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at St. Annâs Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mitchell County Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
John was born Dec. 13, 1948, to Tiburicia M. Molina and Elvira Aquina Molina who preceded him in death. He retired from US Gypsum in February 2011 after 28 years of service. He was a member of St. Annâs Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

ABILENE â State rankings obviously donât scare the Highland girls basketball team.
After reaching the Region II-A, D-II semifinals with a 40-32 win over No. 16-ranked Water Valley, the Lady Hornets routed No. 18 Baird, 55-37, on Friday to move within one game of a first-ever trip to Austin. Highland (30-4) faced Garden City in the Region II-A, D-II finals Saturday with a berth in this weekâs state tournament on the line.
Six Sweetwater girls basketball players have earned all-District 4-3A recognition for their outstanding play. All six are seniors.
Kendra Crosson, Kelsi Crosson and Suede Shirley all received first team all-district honors in 4-3A, and Shelby Cason was named to the second team. Elise Law-rence and Janell Walker earned all-district honora-ble mention.
Sweetwater was 21-15 this season and made the play-offs for the first time since the 2005 season. The 21 wins were also the highest total in eight years.
