One person was killed in a fatal crash in Nolan County on Friday evening, Sept. 28, 2012.
According to Sweetwater Emergency Services Director Grant Madden, one woman died after an accident near the Nolan/Taylor County Line.
Three vehicles were involved in the wreck. Four people were in a car when they wrecked with a truck just above a hill on Interstate 20 including an older female, a younger female and one female child and one male child in the back seat. There was one person in the truck. All in the car were buckled and safe after the wreck.
Nolan County has recently seen some continued rainfall in the area.
The Sept. 27, 2012 totals are as follows: Oak Creek received 0.55 inches of rain, Lake Trammell received 0.20 inches of rain and Lake Sweetwater received 0.15 inches of rain. For 2012, Oak Creek has received 17.76 inches of rain, while Lake Trammell has received 17.93 inches of rain and Lake Sweetwater has received 17.74 inches of rain.
The filter plant received 0.29 inches of rain with its total for the year at 15.73 inches of rain.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 38 calls for service, issued four citations and made no arrests on Sept. 27, 2012.
The SPD received 20, 911 calls.

â¢ Criminal mischief âÂ 1400 block of Hughes.
The Nolan County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) had 10 calls for service, served no civil papers and made three arrests on Sept. 27, 2012.

â¢ Venancio Cerda Torres, Jr., 50, of Snyder â Warrants/surety withdrawal, driving while intoxicated, third or more offense and violation of parole.

The HUB and Rooted Ministries will host a Jeremy Camp concert on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012. The show will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the HUB, located at 204 S. Concho in Roby. This is an outdoor venue so those attending are asked to bring a lawn chair.

Sweetwater Animal Control currently has two dogs available for adoption.
Available for adoption is a female chihuahua mix and a male Labrador mix. According to Sweetwaterâs animal control officer, Don Kite, animals that are picked up are kept for a minimum of three days, but he tries to keep them from a week to 10 days.
Dogs and cats are available for adoption for a $15 fee and the cost of getting the pet vaccinated for rabies.
The pets are required to have their vaccination before they leave to their new homes.
Following some action taken at the Nolan County Commissioners' meeting on Monday morning, September 24, 2012 at the county courthouse, the Nolan County Sheriff's Department will be getting some assistance in several ways.
Approval was given to add two reserve deputy positions (non-paid) for the Sheriff's Department, with a total limit of four. With one currently serving and the two new volunteers, Sheriff David Warren spoke about how these people willingly donate their time and effort to serve in this capacity.

The consolidated churches of Holy Family, Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Albert participated in this yearâs softball coed church league organized by Emmanuel Fellowship Church. The âCathletesâ ended their season with a Sunday of burgers and hotdogs for the team members and their families, and there was also a game between the chldren and the adults.
After getting a week off, Roscoeâs football team is back in action today to start District 7-1A, Division II play at Baird. Roscoe (0-3) is still looking for its first win of the 2012 season after losses to De Leon, Irion County and Miles so far. However, the Plowboys face a Baird team (1-2) that has lost to De Leon and Haskell after defeating Menard in its season opener.
