Few if any Class 1A high school football programs have more tradition than Roscoe, where the Plowboys havenât missed the playoffs since 1997.
In 2010, Roscoe had to work harder than usual to make the postseason, but earned its 13th straight trip despite a 4-7 overall record.
Keeping that streak alive wonât be easy. Not only did the Plowboys lose multi-talented quarterback Caden Smith, the districtâs MVP, to graduation, but Roscoe returns just four players who started a year ago.
Roscoeâs âPlowboy Previewâ is Friday, Aug. 12 at 7 p.m. at the high school football field where the football team, coaches, cheerleaders, cross country athletes and Roscoe band will be introduced. Also, the Roscoe FFA is having a hamburger dinner from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the high school cafetorium. The cost is $5 per plate. Persons are urged to attend both events and support the FFA as well as the Roscoe athletes.
