The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 127 calls for service, issued 10 citations and made eight arrests from Dec. 9-11, 2011.
The SPD received 55, 911 calls.

Sweetwater 7th and 8th grade boys host Snyder, 5 and 6:15 p.m.
The Sweetwater girls go to Lamesa and the boys travel to Breckenridge, while four other area high school basketball teams teams are also on the road today.
Roscoe has a varsity dou-bleheader at Albany, while the Highland and Blackwell girls will begin district play at Hermleigh and Veribest, respectively. The boys teams have an open date.
Sweetwaterâ€™s boys (5-8) lost to Coahoma, 51-47, when they wrapped up play at the three-day Stanton tournament Saturday.
Sweetwaterâ€™s JV boys bas-ketball team went 1-for-3 at a local tournament that ended Saturday.
Sweetwater, now 10-3, opened by beating Colorado City 28-26 but then lost to Merkel, 42-39, in its first game Saturday and also fell to Wall 35-32.
Trey Taylor had a team-high 12 points vs. Colorado City. Quentin Wetsel added six, Deandre Gatson four and Brandon Howell, Mar-quees Jenkins and Mike McCoy two. The Mustangs were ahead 12-4 at halftime, but were outscored 22-16 in the second half.
Taylor scored 13 points and Gatson 12, including a pair of three-pointers, in the loss to Merkel.
Sweetwaterâ€™s freshman boys basketball team defea-ted Merkel 49-31 before losing to Wall 35-32 in their final game of a local tourn-ament held Saturday at the high school gym.
Duanta Williams had 19, Rhett Torres 11, J.P. Poe nine â€” all coming on three-pointers â€” Martes Harris six and Bray Amos and Nick Haley two points each in Sweetwaterâ€™s victory over Merkel. Sweetwater (5-3) led 13-6, 27-11 and 34-24 at the breaks.
The Sweetwater Middle School eighth grade White boys team swept all three of their games to win a local tournament held at the middle school gyms Friday and Saturday.
The eighth graders defea-ted Snyder 28-14, then rou-ted Merkel 26-4 before de-feating Wall 38-14 in their final game.
Music students of Noreen Carson performed in the Woodward Dellis Recital Hall on the Hardin Simmons University campus in the Abilene Music Teachers Associationâ€™s annual Ensemble Festival.
