The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 34 calls for service, issued one citation and made three arrests on Jan. 18, 2012.
The SPD received 20, 911 calls.

ROBY â€” Stella Mae (Cleveland) Mash, 89, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at an Abilene hospital.Â Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Weathesrbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.Â Burial will follow at Roby Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
The Sweetwater boys and girls basketball teams make their longest road trip in District 5-3A today when they travel to Brownwood.
Both Sweetwater teams are still looking for their first district wins and are a collective 0-5 after losing a twinbill to Big Spring at home on Tuesday.

Nolan County Commissioners and Nolan County Judge Tim Fambrough recently signed a proclamation designating January as School Board Appreciation Month in Nolan County.
The proclamation stated that the mission of the public schools is to meet the diverse educational needs of all children and to empower them to become competent, productive contributors to a democratic society and an ever-changing world.
Representatives from the Deaf Action Center (DAC) in Abilene will be at the Sweetwater-Nolan County Health Department on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. to talk about their services. The DAC serves people who are deaf and hard of hearing with a comprehensive range of services. They will educate and train people in coping and communication strategies, assistive devices and Relay Texas Service and more. DAC assists the hard of hearing, deaf, deaf/blind, vision impaired, speech impaired and mobility impaired, in receiving free communication devices from the State of Texas.
The local Brookshireâ€™s grocery store recently donated $250 to the Sweetwater Goodfellows. Brookshireâ€™s employees won the money in a competition against other Brookshireâ€™s grocery stores for community service hours worked by employees. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Texas is one cent more than the average last week, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.Â The current statewide average is $3.23.
