The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) received 170 calls for service, issued 11 citations and made nine arrests from July 29-31, 2011.
The SPD received 69, 911 calls.

Holy Mass of Christian Burial for Pedro MuÃ±oz, Jr., 51, of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories, read by Pauline Gauna and Connie Palacios.
MuÃ±oz died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at his residence.
Roscoe coaches, including Jonathan Haseloff, Chuck Cathey and Alan Steele, run drills as football practices got started Monday.
One person was killed in a one vehicle rollover crash occurring Sunday, July 31, 2011, at 11:57 a.m. The crash was located on U.S. 84, seven miles north of Roscoe in Nolan County.
Cynthia Walsh Holman, 52 years of age from Pearland, Texas was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Sharon Gardner at 12:36 p.m. The body was taken to McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
The only vehicle involved in the crash was a 2008 Chevrolet HHR driven by Cynthia Walsh Holman.
Tracy Holmes is a Kindergarten teacher at East Ridge Elementary and was named 2010-2011 Teacher of the Year at her respective school. All three of her years of teaching have been with Sweetwater ISD.
Holmes earned an Interdisciplinary Generalist (EC-4TH) degree at Hardin-Simmons University. She involves herself with community activities through First Baptist Church in Roby.
Her philosophy on an outstanding teacher might not be lengthy, yet Holmes' strong message has a great impact on students which spans the classroom and beyond.

Nolan County USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Dennis Cumbie, urges producers who want to purchase coverage through the Noninsurable Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) to do so before the sales closing date of Sept. 1, 2011.
NAP provides financial assistance to producers of noninsurable crops when low yields, loss of inventory or prevented planting occur due to normal disasters.
The 2011 Sweetwater Mustangs tried to beat the heat when they took to the field early today to begin working out for the upcoming football season at the high school practice field. Practices also began today for football players at Roscoe, Highland and Blackwell as well as for the Sweetwater volleyball team.
