Sandra Beth (Woodson)Â Underhill, age 67, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.Â
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 13,Â 2011, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frankie Santiago officiating. Burial will follow at Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan, Texas.Â Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.Â
Geneva Marie Morris, 81, of Sweetwater, died Friday, June 10, 2011, at her home.
She was cremated. No further services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Just two of Sweetwaterâ€™s Little League teams are still contending for a District 5 title after two rounds of play.
Sweetwaterâ€™s Senior League Blue Jays will, in fact, play for a title after a 24-1 domination of Abilene Southâ€™s Rangers Thursday. Sweetwater faces Wylieâ€™s Tigers at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Wylie.
The Sweetwater Reporter welcomed special visitors from Mrs. Jenna Hayesâ€™ fifth grade class at Sweetwater Intermediate School. The class received a tour of the building on their last week of school and learned about what it takes to get a newspaper out daily.
Kevin Pantoja, son of Felix and Aida Pantoja and a student at Highland Middle School in the Highland Independent School District, has been selected to travel to the Houston/Galveston area as a participant in Education in Action's Lone Star Leadership Academy, July 11-15, 2011. Kevin's selection for the Academy was based on his outstanding academic success, demonstrated leadership ability, a recommendation by his counselor, Rebecca Rees, and his involvement in school and community activities.
The USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Nolan County Soil and Water Conservation District invite the public and any agencies with an interest in conservation issues to participate in a local work group meeting to be held at the Maryneal Community Center in Maryneal, Texas. This meeting will be on June 13, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.Â
The purpose of this meeting is to receive input from a broad range of local agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals that have an interest in natural resource conditions and needs in Nolan County.

Four Little League teams from Sweetwater are scheduled to resume play with second-round games today at their respective District 5 tournaments that are being held in Abilene.
Gaylord's Pantry, the Sweetwater and Nolan County food pantry that provides emergency food supplies to Sweetwater and Roscoe area families in need, has received a $1,000 donation from Tenaska, Terry Hendley has announced.
"On behalf of First United Methodist Church and the Ministerial Alliance, I want to thank Tenaska for this generous contribution to our food pantry organization," he said. "This donation will help provide needed nutrition to hundreds of families in our region."
