Lady ‘Stangs rally from 0-2 deficit at Greenwood

Sweetwater used a big rally from an 0-2 road deficit on Saturday to improve to 15-8 this season with a non-district volleyball win over former district rival Midland Greenwood.

Mustangs prevail in shoot-out vs. Tigers

September 22, 2014

Sweetwater met up with Snyder on Friday for the 65th time, and quickly fell into a hole as the Tigers led 7-0 less than four minutes into the non-district contest at Mustang Bowl. But at the end, it had a wild 58-40 win over its arch-rival, although the victory wasn’t secured until the final 3:15 — when Bray Amos hooked up with Kaegan Jeffrey on a 66-yard pass play that gave Sweet-water an 18-point lead.

Today’s 7:30 p.m. match-up between Sweetwater and Snyder won’t affect either team’s playoff chances.
But you can bet they will both take their non-district game at Mustang Bowl very seriously, and the host team will be trying to go 4-0 for the first time since 2005.
