Mustangs honored with resolution

The 2015 Sweetwater High School baseball team was recently honored by the Sweetwater ISD board of trustees with a resolution that said the Mustangs “brought honor, pride and distinction” to the city and school district while winning district and bi-district championships.

Roscoe wins pool at Clyde but loses semifinal, 41-40

June 24, 2015

CLYDE — Roscoe’s bid for the 7-on-7 Division II football state tournament fell just short with a 41-40 loss to host Clyde in the semifinals this past Saturday.
Roscoe won its pool earlier in the day by defeating Anson 35-22, Merkel 32-6 and Haskell 42-14 before losing to Clyde.

Two Mustang baseball camps were held last week, one for students entering grades 1-5 and the other for those entering grades 6-9. S’water gets No. 9 state rank from TF

A 13-1 record in its first year in Class 4A, Division II signalled the start of a new era for Sweetwater football. In ending a five-year playoff drought, the Mustangs equalled the most wins in school history and won district, bi-district, area and regional titles. And Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine says their fans can expect a repeat in 2015.
