Here are results from the Sweetwater junior varsity and middle school track teams when they competed at meets held at Sweetwater and Colorado City, respec-tively:

Five of the top basketball honors in District 13-1A, Division II have been given to Nolan County athletes.

Pair of p’lifters qualify for state

Sweetwater’s Dana Hohn and Roscoe’s Ashley Lara qualified for state competi-tion at their regional powerlifting meets last weekend.
Hohn, competing in the 165-pound class, lifted a total of 775 pounds for a second-place finish at the Region I, Division II girls meet in Fort Stockton.

Gatson is lone SW winner

De’andre Gatson tripled jump 43 feet, 5 3/4 inches and was the only first-place medalist for Sweetwater at its Rattlesnake Relays track meet this past Friday.
The Sweetwater boys had 39 points in their division and also got a second-place finish from their 400-meter relay (43.85). For the Sweetwater girls, who had 30 points, Abby Garcia fin-ished second in the high jump (4-9) to garner the best individual finish at last week’s meet.

Boys 12th at Andrews

The Sweetwater boys golf team shot 345-340-685 this past week for a 12th place finish at Andrews’ two-day tournament. A total of 23 teams competed.
It was the first time that Sweetwater had beem able to field a complete boys team for both rounds of a tournament. Mason Andrews was 12th out of 117 medalists in the field after firing rounds of 77 and 80 for a 157 total. Michael Hazard shot 85-79-164; Michael Hunt, coming off an eighth-place finish at the Region 1-3A preview in Lubbock, shot 83-88-171; and Jeremy Witt shot 100-93-193. Mark Lawrence shot a 104 on Saturday.

Trio named to 1st team; 11 honored

Sweetwater has a total of three first team selections on the all-District 4-3A basketball teams and 11 players in all have been honored.
For the Sweetwater boys, senior Kaleb Hoover made the first team for the third straight year and another senior, Dylan Bennett, is on the first team for the first time. Bennett was a second team pick as a junior and earned honorable mention as a sophomore. In addition, senior De’andre Gatson and junior Rhett Torres are second team all-district picks while junior J.P. Poe and sophomore Michael Hunt earned all-district honora-ble mention.

SW takes 2nd at B-Spring

After reaching the title game of the Silver Bracket at Big Spring’s Crossroads tournament, Sweetwater’s softball lost to Lamesa 6-5 in five innings on Saturday for a second-place finish.
The offense was led by Abby Garcia, who had two hits including a home run and scored twice; and Kat Montoya, who hit a two-run double. Morgan Gomez also doubled and Savanna Hall, Lauren Jones and Shaneese Brown also hit safely for the Lady Mustangs, who out-hit Lamesa 7-5 but saw their record fall to 8-6. Annaliese Espinoza and Hall pitched for Sweetwater.

Mustangs 4-0 at WBC

Although Sweetwater was the host team for the Wes Bishop Wood Bat Classic at Sportsman’s Park, the Mus-tangs weren’t very generous to their opponents.
After opening their three-day event with a 4-0 win over Pampa on Thursday, Sweetwater (7-3) picked up three more wins over the weekend with a reliable combination of great pitching, timely hits and solid defense to finish with a 4-0 Classic record on Saturday.
