Sweetwater baseball enters district play

Things have soured the past two weeks for Sweetwater’s baseball team after a great start, but the one bright spot during its current slump came against Wylie in an 11-1 triumph.
Sweetwater (10-9-1) returns to Wylie for a rematch with the Bull-dogs at 4:30 p.m. today in the District 5-3A opener for both squads.
This has been an up-and-down year so far for the Mustangs, who got off to a 9-2-1 start only to drop seven of their last eight. Sweetwater ended its pre-district schedule by losing 6-0 to Class 2A Wall at Newman Park Friday.
Sweetwater had no trouble finding offense against Wylie when the teams played March 12 at Bulldog Field, however, as all nine starters scored at least once in a lopsided victory.
