Sweetwater’s 10-11 year-old all-star baseball highlights

Sweetwater’s 10-11 year-old all-stars have been totally dominant through the first two games of the District 5 Little League tournament they are hosting at the Major League field.
After Monday’s 22-0 win over Snyder in its opener, Sweetwater again showed little mercy Tuesday as it shut out Merkel, 12-0, to reach Friday’s semifinals.
Sweetwater will be taking on Wylie, which is also 2-0 in the tournament after an equally convincing 20-1 win over Abilene Southern in Tuesday’s other game.
The Sweetwater-Wylie winner on Friday advances to next Monday’s championship game. The tournament is double-elimination, so Friday’s loser plays on Saturday against either Snyder, Southern, Clyde or Merkel where the winner advances to the title game.
No games will be played tonight, but two losers bracket games are scheduled Thursday. Snyder will face Southern at 6 p.m., followed by Clyde vs. Merkel at 8. The winners advance to the losers bracket semifinal at 8 p.m. Friday.
